I dag er det 175 år siden forlaget Chapman & Hall i London publiserte «A Christmas Carol. In Prose. Being a Ghost Story of Christmas» av den sosialbevisste engelske forfatteren Charles Dickens (1812–1870) med illustrasjoner av John Leech (1817–64), tegner i det satiriske tidsskriftet Punch som kom ut to år tidligere, i 1841.
